POSITION: Language Arts Licensed (K-8 or 5-12) Teacher - Full Time DATES OF POSITION: starting in the 2023-24 school year JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is for a Language Arts licensed teacher who has a humanities focus, passion for social studies and experience with developing reading skills. The teacher will provide instruction to students in grades 5 and 6 though a multigrade classroom and support the 7th and 8th grade language arts & social studies classroom. Specifically, the teacher will have two or more combined Language Arts and Social Studies (LASS) classes and support the 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher in planning and implementation of 7th & 8th grade LASS. - Plan and implement daily Language Arts & Social Studies lesson plans and continually assess student development and performance. - Teach a curriculum aligned with the Minnesota Language Arts and Social Studies standards that is integrated with language arts, critical literacy, and engages students in deep discussion and thinking about the deconstruction of race, class, and gender in our society. - Provide community building and social emotional learning in a daily advisory class. - Contribute to an educator-led community by participation in various staff meetings and duties.
