EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Special Education Teacher, Grades K-4
Art & Science Academy (ASA), a public charter school district with two schools (grades K-4 and 5-8), is seeking a Grades 5-8 Special Education teacher to begin immediately. This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) position with benefits. Position will remain open until filled.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Providing modified instructional curriculum to students with special needs
Providing case management services for IEPs
Ensuring student case files are compliant with district policies and MDE Special Education guidelines
Providing guidance and leadership to paraprofessionals working with Special Education students
Assisting in developing schedules for paraprofessional duties and ensuring that student services minutes are met
Requirements:
Current Minnesota Special Education teaching license. Will grant out of field permission or Tier 1 if needed.
Position Specific Information:
Collaborative SPED evaluation team
Autonomy with lesson development
Approximate case of load of 12-15 students
Extensive resources
On-site SLP, OT, and DAPE services
Minimal behaviors

Art & Science Academy is located in Isanti, Minnesota. Isanti is 45 minutes north of Minneapolis-St. Paul and offers a small town feel with nearby big city amenities. ASA opened its doors in 2014 with a single K-6 school that served 160 students, and now serves almost 350 students in grades K-8 on two campuses (K-4 and 5-8).
