Position: Food Shelf Assistant
Work Schedule: 24 hours per week, some evenings and weekends, occasional additional hours time carded

Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour dependent on qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* College Degree
* Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
* Friendly, approachable and participant focused.
* Strong organizational and customer service skills.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to varying demands with the ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
* Proven ability to work respectfully and responsibly with diverse populations.
* Experience working in a team-oriented environment, including working with or alongside other volunteers.
* Proficient with PC, Google Suite and Microsoft Office
* Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Desired qualities:
* Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred
* Previous experience working or volunteering in a food shelf setting
* Demonstrated experience working with diverse and/or under-represented populations is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Answer phones, greet, welcome and support food shelf participants, volunteers, donors, school staff, service providers and community members.
* Identify and prioritize the needs of our food shelf participants and respond accordingly.
* Schedule appointments in the food shelf database for people who need food and other resources and maintain accurate client records.
* Assist food shelf participants as needed in accessing food, answering questions and providing community resources.
* Support and fill in for volunteers when needed to ensure that our shelves are well-stocked and organized with a wide variety of foods and non-food items and our participant needs are being met.
* Receive incoming mail, deliveries, and donations as needed.
* Replenish and maintain literature and supplies while keeping all common areas organized and clean.
* Assist in creating and designing flyers, posters, social media materials and other visual graphics using Canva design tool.
* Support special projects, fundraising efforts and seasonal events
* All other duties as assigned.
