This is a 10-month, full-time position, and reports to the Building Principal. The hourly rate of pay is $22.60 per hour, based on the 2022-24 master agreement between SSP School District #6 and Local 12 Office & Professional Employees International Union. Job Summary This position operates the central phone lines, directs visitors and provides clerical support to the building administrators and general office area. Job Functions * Perform clerical duties such as typing and distribution of correspondence, forms, and surveys, answering phones, schedule appointments, greeting and screening visitors and answering questions or directing visitors to appropriate locations, filing, copying, processing mail, scheduling appointments, organizing department information, and maintaining records. * Greet and sign in all building visitors and ensure policies and procedures are followed. * Manage multiple phone lines (answer, transfer and page). * Assist and direct students, parents, staff, and visitors. * Maintain and coordinate office conference room schedule. * Assist in preparing mailings. * Manage and distribute forms for students (i.e. theft, visitors, Bring A Friend, etc.). * Email teachers when student visitors are coming into the building. * Maintain forms from social services agencies &#8211; keep a copy, send original down to records, and call down students. * Manage, update and maintain accurate student attendance records and communication logs with families. * Serve as back up to collect, read, and distribute announcements. * Assist with payment for transcripts and student money collections as needed. * Track attendance and deal with day-to-day obligations of service students. * Manage confiscated cell phones and other electronic devices taken by staff including write up referral, inform office administration, secure the devices once collected, and return to student or parent (situation dependent). * Maintain confidentiality with students, staff, and community. * Assist during evening conferences and schedule handout days. * Model the 1B Learner Profile for students, families and staff. * Serve as a back-up where needed. * Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members. * Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies. * Demonstrated prompt, regular and reliable attendance. * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * High School diploma or equivalent. * One to three years previous experience in a clerical position. * Demonstrated ability to perform clerical duties such as answering multiple phone lines, typing, copying, filing and maintaining routine records. * Experience answering multiple phone lines. * Strong organization skills and ability to multitask * Ability to perform computer functions, including the use of Google apps, email, Internet navigation and Microsoft Office * Excellent customer service skills. * Experience working in a school environment. * Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community. * Desire, patience, and compassion to work with middle school and high school age students.
