New Hope Learning Center
7 hours per day, which includes 6.5 hours of paid time and 30 minutes of unpaid lunch time
$18.47 - $19.69 per hour based on the current Collective Bargaining Agreement
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist and support teachers in planning, preparation and presentation of curriculum
* Assist in daily classroom preparations including planning, set-up and clean-up of children’s learning environment
* Foster a positive environment to support the academic, social and emotional development of students
* Maintain a positive relationship and interact with children in the classroom
* Foster a positive environment to support the academic, social and emotional development of students
* Keep accurate records of children’s records, absentees, other classroom systems
* Provide for the health and safety of children by following center rules and standards
* Assist teacher with behavior guidance and supervision of children
* Work as a team member with staff
* Display sensitivity toward families regarding their culture and diversity
* Attend required staff development and staff meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or GED required
* Experience working with young children and their parents
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, early childhood staff and district personnel
* Evidence of organization, self-motivation, enthusiasm, patience, problem solving and flexibility
* Multi-cultural awareness, gender fairness, and disability awareness
* Physical stamina to complete tasks and work with small children (infants, toddlers, and preschoolers).
* This includes the ability to: lift up to 30 lbs; lift and carry infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; get up and down from the floor to work with small children; and to move quickly across a room to respond to the needs of small children.
* Experience working with young children and multicultural and diverse families
* Experience working with EL families preferred
* Bilingual preferred
