The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking a School Psychologist to join our secondary team for the 2023-24 school year, with part time and full time openings. The School Psychologist is responsible for providing a full range of psychological services to support the academic and behavioral competence of students (ages birth to twenty-one), families, and staff. Work is performed under the general direction of the Special Services Leadership team.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Participate in design and evaluation of early interventions for students experiencing academic and behavioral difficulty; consult and collaborate with staff and families through the Problem Solving Team process
Conduct diagnostic assessments of referred students throughout the school district using direct and indirect methods; building level team in evaluation procedures and processes in all areas of development and functioning.
Assist in team decision making, student placement and planning decisions, especially when out-of-district placement is considered.
Consult with building staff and administators regarding individual students.
Provide services to groups and individuals and training to staff and families.
Facilitate referrals and act as a liaison with outside agencies.
Facilitates child study team meetings and is team point person for parent eval requests.
Assist in development and implementation of crisis response and system changes within buildings.
Assists directly in crisis situations, risk assessments, and emergency response planning and follow through.
Establish and maintain contact with parents/guardians through participation in team meetings, consultation and facilitation of family groups.
Attends IEP meetings, Evaluation results meetings, problem solving team and child study team meetings.
May serve as district representative at IEP team meetings.
Participate in building and district teams as appropriate.
Provide psychological assessment as part of team making decisions concerning early admittance to kindergarten and interprets results of early childhood screening as necessary.
Other duties as apparent or assigned.
