Creating a safe Social-Emotional Learning Environment Job Summary To perform a variety of duties involving routine food preparation. Provide food services to students, school faculty, parents, and families. Ability to multitask and handle a high number of physical kitchen tasks with speed and accuracy. Responsibilities Food Preparation and service: (75%) * Ability to prepare service line for meal service and service customers * Ability to prepare and deliver routine food order to include food carts to classrooms * Ability to assemble students nourishment * Ability to easily follow instructions * Kitchen equipment for tray line and/or cafeteria service may be used: heavy carts, steam tables, coffee urns * Prepare and serve food for large school events, PTO, after school programs as needed Kitchen maintenance: (25%) * Ability to clean and maintain areas as assigned * Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other equipment used. * Clean and wipe down counters and tables. * Sweep and mop kitchen area Position Specifications * Must be able to stand for prolonged period of time throughout the day * Extensive use of hands and arms for cleaning, repairing, and other general maintenances * Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, walking or standing. * Ability to lift and/or move equipment&#8217;s up to 25 pounds such as cleaning supplies, food packages, unloading trucks, or cleaning supplies * Work may require an awkward or strained position to be assumed for a short period of time in lifting or handling heavy objects * Ability to push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus * Food service certification may be required Qualifications * High School Diploma or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma is preferred. * One (1) year experience in food preparation work preferred. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10&#8217;s and 100&#8217;s. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. * Ability to perform duties with awareness of all school requirements and Board of Directors&#8217; policies. -- Community School of Excellence School District #4181, 270 Larpenteur Ave West, St. Paul, MN 55113 Please submit the following: 1. Job Summary
