Creating a safe Social-Emotional Learning Environment Job Summary The Dance Assistant is responsible for: Helping the dance instructor at Community School of Excellence to establish a strong and viable dance troupe at CSE. Responsibilities Dance Instruction 40% * Coordinate practices, dance competitions, performances and appearances outside of Community School of Excellence * Ensures costumes and materials needed for dance practice and appearances are ordered and maintained. * Coordinate transportation and logistics for off-site performances. * Manages and attends all off-site performances and appearances with CSE dancers * Ensures that transportation, permission slips, attendance and costumes for each dancer is ready and * prepared. * Communicates with families and students in dance on a regular basis * Enhancement on concerns and issues related to families * and students in dance * Coordinates dance-related events, which includes but is not limited to the annual banquet, quarterly * family meetings and dance practices and performances * Track budget for dance team including incoming and outgoing funds. * Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Administrative Support (60%) * Demonstrates and creates a positive, professional and courteous client service to all staff, students and public (SMILE) * Provides the public with information about our school (in person and over the phone) * Answers incoming calls, transfer calls, takes messages in professional manner * Determines priorities and directs individuals to appropriate staff in professional manner * Assist with school events as assigned by supervisor * Provide coverage for other administrative assistant staff at the front desk, offices and health office. * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Knowledge and Skills * Bilingual in English and Hmong, Karen or Karenni preferred * Experience and aptitude working with young children * High level of patience and ability to calmly and clearly redirect and guide young children * Demonstrated multi-cultural experience and ability to communicate with limited-English speakers * Demonstrates superior judgment in all aspects of work. * Ability to meet deadlines and hold oneself accountable to meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a strong team player. * Familiarity and comfort with electronic forms of communication, including ready access and responsiveness to e- * mail correspondence. * Ability to sit for long-periods of time and enter student and staff data accurately into Infinite Campus and for * other state required reports Qualifications * High School degree or higher education from an accredited college or university preferred. * Minimum of 2 year experience * Must have a valid driver&#8217;s license and at least three years of driving experience with a clean driving record. * Knowledge of Hmong culture and issues facing Southeast Asian communities, especially Hmong families. Job Summary
