POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Mahtomedi Compensation Plan Coordinator position will coordinate the Mahtomedi Compensation Plan (MCP) in Mahtomedi Public Schools.  The MCP position will be a combined 0.5FTE MCP Coordinator and 0.5 FTE Peer Coach.  This position will be a teacher on special assignment (TOSA) effective the 2026-27 school year.   

The process for the selection of this individual will include a formal interview with a designated committee, including representation from the local chapter of Education Minnesota.

The MComp Coordinator will serve in this position for a term of no more than 5 years.

Upon conclusion of the Coordinator assignment, every effort will be made to return the Coordinator to his/her previous job assignment, or as similar position as possible within their licensure.  Seniority in the position/licensure will be given strong consideration.  

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Primary role is to work in conjunction with both the MCP Governance Board and the Director of Teaching and Learning to develop/ refine, implement, and coordinate the MCP for E-21 licensed staff.
  2. Duties include the following:
  • Conduct needs assessments
  • Provide mentorship and support to the Peer Coaches
  • Coordinate and conduct peer observations of the Peer Coaches
  • Schedule and facilitate the MCP Governance Board meetings
  • Participate in relevant staff development and leadership meetings
  • Complete all paperwork and reporting requirements for MDE
  • Provide training and support to PLC Facilitators
  • In coordination with the Director of teaching and learning, manage the MCP budget
  • Prepare and submit the annual MCP report to the school board
  • In collaboration with the peer coaches:
i.  Serve as a peer coach to a caseload of teachers
ii.  Use data to measure growth toward student achievement goals
iii. Plan weekly professional development activities for the coaching team
iv.  Prepare professional development for PLC Facilitators
v.  Provide teacher release time as necessary 
  • Complete other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Continuing contract teacher status and 10 years of successful teaching experience; including 7 years within the Mahtomedi School District at the time of application
  2. Previous experience in a peer coaching role/environment
  3. An educational background that includes a minimum of a Master’s degree and/or National Board Certification
  4. Advanced professional continuous improvement learning in a wide range of instructional and student management strategies
  5. Demonstrated organizational and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization
  6. Ability to interpret disaggregated student data and formulate appropriate instructional strategies to meet specific MCP goals

EVALUATION PROCESS:
The MCP Coordinator will be evaluated by the Director of Teaching and Learning. 

SALARY:
The MCP Coordinator receives their regular compensation per the Teacher Contract and remains eligible for the MCP annual teacher stipends.
