Assistant Administrator 
Early Childhood Montessori Program
Little Voyageurs’ Montessori School’s mission is to nurture the development of each child’s unique potential promoting independence, respect, lifelong skills, and an appreciation for elders.
Little Voyageurs is looking for an Assistant Administrator for its Montessori program for children aged 3 years through Kindergarten. 
Job Description: The role of the Assistant Administrator is to support the Administrator by taking on various administrative tasks, maintaining good communication with families, staff, and prospective parents, supporting the school environment, managing the school’s social media presence, organizing the annual fundraiser events, helping to maintain compliance with rules and regulations, and overseeing the program when the Administrator is not present.

General Responsibilities:
·         Complete daily administrative tasks such as but not limited to:
o   Ensuring that enrollment records are complete and kept up to date
o   Assisting with payroll
o   Completing tasks on Quickbooks
o   Assisting in training new staff
o   Registering staff for outside trainings/professional development opportunities
o   Maintaining student health records for the State of Minnesota
o   Ordering supplies and classroom materials
·         Manage communications with parents and families in the form of announcements and newsletters, answering e-mails and phone calls.
·         Work with parents, prospective families and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
·         Oversee the annual fall/spring fundraisers.
·         Coordinating field trips and helping with other school events.
·         Support the classroom environment, staff, and children.
·         Oversee social media and various marketing tasks, including managing the school’s Facebook page and website using a content management system (CMS).
·         Ensure that the program remains up to date and in compliance with current rules, regulations, accreditation standards, and Parent Aware requirements for early childhood programs.
·         Other duties as needed.
Required qualifications:
·         Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
·         Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
·         Knowledgeable in using general office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems, etc.
·         Demonstrated skills in writing, editing, and record keeping.
·         Enthusiasm for working with young children in a Montessori early childhood program, contributing to the growth and development of children and staff, and being supportive of families and school community.
·         Takes initiative and works well independently and as part of a team.
·         Willing to learn and follow the theory and structure of a Montessori program, keeping the school true to its mission as a Montessori school based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s concepts.
Preferred qualifications:
·         Previous experience in a Montessori setting or working with young children
·         The ideal candidate is detail oriented, energetic, creative, patient, respectful of children and adults, and has a passion for children.
·         Willingness to learn other software programs (e.g., Quickbooks, CMS, etc.)
·         Experience with social media; ability or willingness to learn to maintain the website using a CMS to keep it updated, relevant and working with other technology platforms.
·         Knowledge or experience in website and social media content development.
·         Previous experience with event planning and/or coordinating fundraisers.
·         Familiarity with Google products (Google Ads, Analytics, etc.).
This position is 30+ hours per week year-round.
