Position Overview

This position processes medical billing for 3rd parties, acting as a liaison between providers, Spring Lake Park Schools, and the Department of Human Services (DHS).

Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to, working with teachers, parents, health insurance companies, doctors, and the Director of Special Education to collect data necessary to comply with the Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements for 3rd party payments to schools.  Responsibilities include:

  • Self-direction, an eye for detail, strong collaborative and communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and files.
  • Provide up to date reports on 3rd party billing.
  • Ensure understanding of and compliance to the Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements.

We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work in education, as well as a commitment to ongoing learning.
 
Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable about 3rd party medical assistance billing and Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Experience with computers/data management programs.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with little direction.
  • Pays close attention to detail for data accuracy purposes. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work as a member of a team. 
  • At least a high school diploma and strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students and staff and maintain confidentiality.
