Building attendants.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Required
  • Two years’ experience in scheduling and/or coordinating volunteers in a non-profit or for-profit setting
  • Knowledge of and experience working with diverse groups 
Preferred
  • BA/BS Degree (Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, Human Resources or Education)
  • Leadership experience in a human services field  and the ability to maintain data and to generate reports to support the work of the program
  • Familiarity with the St. Cloud community
 
OTHER SKILLS:
Excellent organization and project management skills; strong communication skills including writing, speaking and listening; ability to work with diverse groups; skill in team building and collaboration with a demonstrated ability to involve others in work and to inform others of processes, decisions and events; knowledge and understanding of volunteer programs.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Scheduling/Volunteer Specialist will recruit, train and coordinate the activity of volunteers working in the St. Cloud District 742 public schools while demonstrating and supporting the core values of the District and District learning initiatives.  This position also facilitates district wide building use beyond the school day and monitors facility guidelines and procedures.  The Facilities Scheduling/Volunteer Specialist is also responsible for the day to day oversight of building attendants and for providing crisis management training for building attendant staff.

SALARY: 
$19.32/hr-$24.05/hr (dependent on qualifications and experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Recruit, interview, hire and train building attendants.
  • Assist in evaluation of building attendants.
  • Assess appropriate fees, charges and accommodations for each reservation.
  • Parallel district initiatives with community needs.
  • Works closely with building principals and staff to ensure safety and security.
  • Correlates technology of facility scheduling with other district technology initiatives and coordinates training technology with other building staff.
  • Facilitates the placement of trained volunteers into roles that best serve district goals and objectives
  • Provides centralized processing of all volunteers through St. Cloud Community Education and reviews volunteer requests submitted by district personnel and responds to those requests in a timely fashion 
  • Recruits volunteers from area colleges (St. Cloud State, St. Benedict’s, St. Cloud Technical & Community, and St. John’s), fraternal groups (Rotary, Lions, Sertoma, etc.), businesses, community organizations, and the general community
  • Provides orientation, training, assessment of, and ongoing support to K-12 volunteers, teachers, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Follows district procedures and processes designed to ensure the safety of students, staff, and community members
  • Electronically processes volunteer application and other forms, and, in collaboration with the District Human Resource office, facilitates the processing of required background checks 
  • Tracks and maintains electronic records including the number of volunteers, number of volunteer hours, buildings or facilities where these services are taking place, types of services being provided, and demographic information about who is being served
  • Maintains and secures electronic data base of all volunteer records, in compliance with district, state, and federal policies
  • Provides regular and consistent data reports to supervisor and other stakeholders
  • Attends trainings, workshops and staff development opportunities related to school volunteer programs as directed by supervisor
  • Providing ongoing program evaluation by obtaining regular feedback from volunteers, staff, and stakeholders
  • Collaborates with school principals and other administrative staff to facilitate strong, respectful work relationships between volunteers and paid staff
  • Provides ongoing and appropriate recognition of volunteers
  • Oversees a volunteer tutor budget
