About Al-Amal School:

 

Al-Amal School is an accredited AdvancED, NAEYC and CISNA. It is a full-time private Islamic school established in 1994, with a student body of 400. Al-Amal School offers a competitive college preparatory environment for grades preschool through 12th. The major focus of the programs offered at Al-Amal are excellence in education through a competitive curriculum, Mishkah University Islamic Studies courses (HS), and the Hifth Program (Elementary and MS).  

 

 

 

Job Summary:

 

-       To carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for an assigned class.

-       To be re responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the class and the safety of the pupils during on-site and off-site activities.

-       To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education.

 

Qualifications & Skills

-       Bachelors or higher degree in education (teaching license is preferred for full-time teachers)

-       Two years of teaching experience in a classroom setting

-       Excellent interpersonal communication skills

-       Comfortable working with multicultural and multi-ethnic population

-       Computer skills

-       Must have legal authorization to work in the USA

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

-       Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to children’s learning.

-       Plan and prepare lessons in order to deliver the Minnesota Curriculum ensuring breadth and balance in all subjects.

-       Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes with appropriate challenge and high expectations.

-       Maintain good order and discipline among the pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.

-       Organize and manage groups or individual pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs and reflecting all abilities.

-       Plan opportunities to develop the social, emotional and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.

-       Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping and reporting of children’s progress.

-       Prepare appropriate records for the transfer of pupils.

-       Ensure effective use of support staff within the classroom, including parent volunteers.

-       Participate in staff meetings as required.

-       Contribute to the development and coordination of a particular area of the curriculum.

-       Be part of a whole school team, actively involved in decision-making on the preparation and development of policies and programs of study, teaching materials and resources, methods of teaching and pastoral arrangements.

-       Ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice.

-       Communicate and consult with parents over all aspects of their children’s education – academic, social and emotional.

-       Communicate with outside agencies when appropriate (Ex. Educational Psychologist).

-       Continue professional development, maintaining a portfolio of training undertaken.

-       Promote the welfare of children and support the school in safeguarding children through relevant policies and procedures.

-       Promote equality as an integral part of the role and treat everyone with fairness and dignity.
