English Language Development Teacher, Elementary grades, Full-time - College Prep Elementary Charter

Position Opening:

College Prep Elementary is now accepting applications for a Full-time English Language Development Teacher for Elementary grades, for 2017-18 school year. 

 

Qualifications:

 

·       Valid MN ESL K-12 Teaching License (required)

·       Experience working with Hmong and Karen populations (preferred, but not required)

 

Position Description:

The Full-time English Language Development (ELD) Teacher collaborates with the classroom teacher in the areas of planning for differentiation, delivering ELD instruction, in co-taught, whole class or  small group instruction,  including push in, pull out and/or intervention.  Meeting with team members, communication with parents, and attending and participating in after school commitments such as conferences, school picnic, graduation, etc. is required. 

 

CPE Teacher duties…

·       Identify individual and collective learning needs of children

·       Plan and deliver instruction based on WiDA Standards, Minnesota Standards and student learning needs

·       Provide a stimulating learning environment in which each child can experience growth and develop to potential

·       Help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes

·       Use various assessment tools to evaluate and communicate student progress

·       Serve as role models for students

·       Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as required by law, administrative regulations and district policy

·       Meet/communicate with classroom teachers regularly and parents as needed.

·       Attend evening meetings, events and activities as assigned

·       Meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress

·       Supervise extra-curricular and after-school activities when required

·       Attend meetings, seminars and professional development sessions

·       Serves as the first responder in a variety of situations such as minor scrapes, family emergencies or not being picked up as scheduled

·       Supervise in lunchroom, on playground, and at bus arrival and departure, as assigned

·       Other duties as assigned
