Hiawatha Collegiate High School is the newest addition to the growing Hiawatha Academies charter school network. In August 2015, Hiawatha Collegiate High School opened its doors to 104 9th grade students.  The school will grow one grade each year, and next year, it will be home to just over 300 freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.  At HCHS, all students benefit from a well-rounded program rooted in rigorous academics, comprehensive college support, and meaningful extracurricular activities.


HCHS is committed to ensuring that 100 percent of its students will graduate from high school prepared to thrive in college.  HCHS is currently seeking a hard-working, passionate, and goal-oriented educator to join our team as a Facilities Supervisor for the 2017-18 school year.


Job Description

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for joining a powerful vision of supporting student achievement through effective operations. The Operations Team exists to support key stakeholders in the pursuit of educational excellence by providing direct support and facilitating relationships that bridge home and school. The After-School Facility Monitor is part of a team that creates and maintains systems that allow staff to focus on excellent academic program; s/he would directly impact the Hiawatha mission each day on the job.


The Facilities Supervisor will work under the guidance of the Director of Operations and will support scholars and staff by monitoring the facility, providing support to building occupants, supporting in the setup and teardown of evening facilities use, and monitoring the Main Office during after-school hours.

After-School Duties

·         Hours: 4:30-close Monday-Thursday

·         *close varies day-by-day dependent on after school activities. The After-School Facility Monitor will stay until the last student leaves. Expect 12-15 hours per week.

·         *Schedules are set 2-weeks in advance.

·         Run the basic operations of the Main Office including supporting students calling home and with other needs, answering the door and answering phone calls.

·         Perform regular building sweeps to ensure the security of the building.

·         Complete operations tasks daily as assigned by the Director of Operations (examples include stuffing envelopes, sorting papers, filing, classroom setup, basic facility support etc.)

·         Support in event setup and teardown, and serve as the primary point of contact for facilities occupants


Occasional Weekend/Special Event Duties

·         Hours: Occasional weekend and Friday hours.

·         Monitor the Main Office and the facility during occasional/special event duties on the weekends.

·         Manage building access and answer questions about the facility.

·         Support with basic facility setup/tear down depending on the event.

Skills & Qualifications


·         High School diploma

·         General knowledge of Microsoft Office

·         Excellent customer service skills

Highly Preferred:

·         Experience working in a fast-paced office environment

·         Experience working in a high-need K-12 school setting

·         Experience working with students of color or students growing up in low-income households



The After-School Facility Monitor position is an hourly position.
