Position Overview
 
The successful candidate will be an individual who holds a license in Early Childhood Special Education.  The successful candidate will team effectively with paraprofessionals, teachers, and families. The candidate will pocess strong communication skills both orally and written. The successful candidate willl have knowledge in due process IEP and evaluation testing and writing.

  • in personalizing learning for students, meeting academic, social, and emotional needs and aspirations so that each student feels valued and has a sense of belonging, leading to academic success

Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
1. Collaborative work interacting with paraprofessionals, and other building staff
2. Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals 
3. Develop daily classroom routines and curriculum 
4. Write quality IEP goals demonstrating adequate due process knowledge 
5. Knowledge of evaluation deadlines, report writing and qualifications to meet Minnesota criteria for Special Education 
6. Knowledge of Campus preferred 
7. Develop individual programming based on each student's IEP 
8. Communication with parents 
9.  Experience with augmentative communication systems, picture symbols, student schedules 

Preferences
We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work with students.  Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning as evidenced by graduate-level work or an earned degree, as well as participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area.
 
Qualifications
 
The successful candidate must have earned a Early Childhood Special Education license.   Additional demonstrated qualifications include:  commitment to the equitable education of all students; creative planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills. 

Licensing Requirements
Current Minnesota Early Childhood Special Education license or eligibility is required.
