K-6 Student Support Coordinator Opening:  Minnewaska Area Schools has an opening for a Student Support Coordinator for grades K-6 beginning the 2017-2018 school year.  See job description below. Job Description

 

Reports to:         K-6 Principal

Pay Grade:          Teacher on Special Assignment or TBD (if not a teacher on special assignment)

FTE:                        1.0 FTE

Duties:                  As assigned, but to include the following:

 

·         Provide behavioral coaching to K-6 students using the adopted Laker Pride PBIS Model

·         Monitor K-6 attendance and provide support to identified families to ensure student success

·         Identify behaviorally, emotionally and socially at risk students and provide intervention to support identified needs

·         Create behavior monitoring system to track identified behaviors

·         Provide pro-active instruction regarding PBIS model including Being Responsible, Respectful and Safe in all school settings including classrooms, playground and bus.

·         Form relationship with Palmer Bus Company to instruct drivers on PBIS model and correct ways to incorporate consequences.

·         Works with principal to establish and provide a safe and secure learning environment for students.

·         Participates in parent meetings to share student data and behavior plans.

·         Participates in community groups to build relationships to best support young learners not limited to, but including Pope County Social Services.

·         Coordinates District Assessments
