Elementary Teacher, Grades K-6 - College Preparatory Elementary

Position Opening:

College Prep Elementary is now accepting applications for a Full-time, 3rd Grade Classroom Teacher for the 2017-18 school year.




·       Valid MN Elementary Teaching License (required)

·       Experience working with similar population (preferred, but not required)


Position Description:

This position requires teacher to performs all of the essential functions of a regular classroom teacher, including but not limited to planning and delivering instruction, behavior and classroom management, assessment and differentiation, collaboration with team members, communication with parents, lunch or recess supervision, and attending and participating in some after school commitments such as conferences, school picnic, graduation, etc, and other duties as assigned. 


CPE Teacher duties…

·       Identify individual and collective learning needs of children

·       Plan and deliver instruction based on Minnesota Standards and student learning needs

·       Provide a stimulating learning environment in which each child can experience growth and develop to potential

·       Help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes

·       Use various assessment tools to evaluate and communicate student progress

·       Serve as role models for students

·       Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as required by law, administrative regulations and district policy

·       Meet/communicate with parents on a regular basis

·       Attend evening meetings, events and activities as assigned

·       Meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress

·       Organize and direct the work of teacher assistants and/or paraprofessionals and parent volunteers

·       Supervise extra-curricular and after-school activities when required

·       Attend meetings, seminars and professional development sessions

·       Serves as the first responder in a variety of situations such as minor scrapes, family emergencies or not being picked up as scheduled

·       Supervise in lunchroom, on playground, and at bus arrival and departure

·       Other duties as assigned
