Position: Speech Language Clinician

 

School: Athlos Academy of St. Cloud

 

Description: The speech/language pathologist will screen, assess, and evaluate speech, language and communication needs for individuals with various physical, psychological, cognitive and sensory abilities.

Qualifications: Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree

Licensure: Valid Speech Language Pathologist license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education

Experience: Experience working with a wide variety of communication needs. Experience in due process including evaluations, IEP’s and 504 Plans.

 

Job Duties:

1.  Model the Athlos culture

2.  Participate in and provide professional development

3.  Communicate with parent/guardians and the community professionally

4.  Participate in evaluation/assessment of a child, child’s family, and in the development of integrated goals and outcomes for IEPs/504 Plans

5.  Educate parents and others regarding the provision of services

6.  Provide specialized instruction as outlined in IEPs/504 Plans

7.  Utilize a variety of materials and teaching techniques including evidence-based practices

8.  Implement a variety of service delivery models

9.  Consult with parents, other service providers and representatives of appropriate community agencies to ensure the effective provision of services

10.  Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff through consultation and development of instructional activities to meet the students' speech and/or language needs in the classroom, home, and community environments

11.  Observe students in various educational environments and provide recommendations; adapt and/or modify materials; collect data to evaluate student progress

12.  Plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student’s progress

13.  Participate in meetings to include IEP, 504 Plan, conferences, in-services, etc.

14.  Prepare documentation (evaluation, observations, progress reports) and maintain records as required and for compliance with district administrative policies, state and federal rules and regulations

15.  Provide 3rd party billing documentation for eligible students

16.  Maintain confidentiality

17.  Other duties as assigned
