Schedule: Part-time 10 hours per week, non-exempt, not benefit-eligible position.

Ascension Catholic School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Spanish teacher to join our middle school faculty. Working in a faith-centered environment, you'll inspire young minds to embrace language learning and cultural understanding while supporting our mission of academic excellence and Catholic values.
Purpose of Position
To provide engaging Spanish language instruction to middle school students, fostering language acquisition skills and cultural appreciation in alignment with Catholic educational principles and academic standards.
General Responsibilities
- Design and deliver dynamic Spanish lessons for grades 7 & 8
- Create an immersive language environment that encourages active student participation
- Assess and track student progress through appropriate evaluation methods
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate Spanish language across the curriculum
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development
- Support the Catholic identity and mission of the school
Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Teachers will be required to teach the adopted Catholic Religion Curriculum, which includes PCYI curriculum, leading daily prayer and supervision at mass. Position Qualifications and Duties
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field
- State teaching certification or ability to obtain certification
- Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management skills
- Understanding of and commitment to Catholic education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Duties:
- Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state standards
- Create engaging lesson plans incorporating technology and cultural elements
- Monitor and assess student learning outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of student performance
- Prepare students for high school language requirements
- Organize cultural activities and events

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move around the classroom for extended periods
- Lift and move teaching materials up to 20 pounds
- Use technology including computers, projectors, and smart boards
- Navigate the school environment including stairs and between classrooms
- Speak clearly and audibly to groups of students
