POSITION TITLE : Special Education Behavior Supervisor REPORTS TO : Subbing and Para Coordinator POSITION OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of the Special Education Behavior Supervisor is to foster a positive school culture by implementing programs and processes that support Special Education students as listed in their Individualized Education Plan and Behavior Intervention Plans as it aligns with the mission, vision, and pillars of DaVinci Academy. RESPONSIBILITIES: The SpEd Behavior Supervisor is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing behavior intervention programs for individuals with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs. The SpEd Behavior Supervisor uses principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to assess behavior, develop individualized treatment plans, train staff and caregivers, and monitor progress to improve student outcomes across educational, clinical, and community settings. Assessment & Program Development Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and skill-based assessments. Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and treatment goals. Use data-driven decision making to adjust interventions. Intervention & Supervision Implement and oversee ABA programs in the school setting. Provide guidance and mentorship to the behavior support staff, and paraprofessionals. Ensure interventions align with IEP goals and ethical and professional standards. Data & Progress Monitoring Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data. Prepare progress reports and documentation for stakeholders. Monitor treatment fidelity and outcomes. Collaboration & Training Collaborate with educators, related service providers, case managers, due process specialists, administrators, and families. Provide training on behavior strategies and classroom management. Participate in IEP/504 meetings or multidisciplinary team meetings. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of leadership and management principles; Ability to assist in hiring staff; Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and function under very stressful situations; Ability to deal with and resolve difficult problems independently; Ability to interpret and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures consistently; Ability to process and use complicated data; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing; Ability to present to small groups and large groups; Ability to write reports and correspondence; Master''s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field. State licensure in Emotional Behavioral Disorders. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and/or behavioral challenges. Experience in school-based, clinical, or home-based settings. Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education law (for school roles). Experience supervising EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor''s degree required, master''s degree preferred; Considerable experience in a job-related field; LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND REGISTRATION Special Education License (EBD) OR BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) required. Administrative License preferred, not required.
