The Sartell-St. Stephen School District is currently seeking applicants to fill the role of Assistant Director of Nutrition Services. The Assistant Director of Nutrition Services assists the Director of Nutrition Services in the leadership, supervision, training, and management of district-wide nutrition services operations and staff. The position provides active, onsite leadership and oversight of kitchens to ensure efficient daily operations, high-quality meal service, food safety, regulatory compliance, and consistent implementation of department procedures. The Assistant Director also plays a key role in recipe development and menu implementation, staff training and development, and continuous improvement of nutrition services programs. The position also assists in assuring compliance with local, state and federal laws/regulations in the operation of the district Child Nutrition Programs and other duties as assigned.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides onsite leadership, management, and supervision of assigned kitchens and personnel.
- Leads recipe development, testing, and menu implementation.
- Manages and coordinates the district''s special dietary needs program in accordance with USDA requirements and district procedures.
- Develops, implements, and monitors department policies, procedures, and food safety practices.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will hold an Bachelor''s Degree in Nutrition, Culinary or similar degree; Registered Dietitian preferred.
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a school nutrition or food service setting
- School Nutrition Association Level 2 Certification*
- Department of Health Food Manager Certification*
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience working with children is strongly desired
- Pervious management experience strongly desired
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver''s license
*Required certifications within first 6 months of employment
Work Year:
This is an 8 hour/day, 222 days per year position (approx. 11 months)
Pay and Benefits:
$56,000 - $62,000 - Commensurate with education and experience
