Description: Discovery Kids Lead Toddler Teacher
Job Summary:
* Plan and implement curriculum using the Creative Curriculum, in a play-based learning environment.
* Conduct assessments throughout the year using Teaching Strategies Gold, evaluating children's social, emotional and academic growth.
* Conduct Parent/Teacher conferences with progress reports twice a year.
* Work with the assistant teacher to create an intriguing learning environment expected of high quality NAEYC accredited program.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and conduct daily activities for children in a safe environment
* Supervise personnel assigned to assist with daily group activities
* Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of children
* Keeping a strong line of communication open with families
* Assist in program evaluation
* Being open to ideas and thoughts from other staff in order to maximize the potential of your classroom
* Attend and actively contribute to staff and family meetings
* Incorporate assessment into your weekly lesson plans. Use results to guide future lesson plans for the group and to differentiate for individual children
Qualifications:
* Experience and excellent references for providing age-appropriate respectful care and education for children ages 16-33 months. Organized, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities typical in a DHS Licensed 4-star Parent Aware, NAEYC Accredited center. Candidate must be teacher qualified according to the MN Dept of Human Services standards.
Range: $21-$22/hr.
