POSITION DETAILS Grade : 7th POSITION: Literacy Intervention Start Date: 2026-2027 Full Time FTE: 1.0 ROLE OBJECTIVES The 7 th Grade Literacy Intervention Teacher at STRIDE Academy will provide targeted literacy support for students who are experiencing challenges in meeting grade -level reading and writing standards. This role focuses on building critical literacy skills, fostering a love for reading, and empowering students to become confident, independent learners. The teacher will assess learning needs, design and implement research-based intervention strategies, and collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure each student receives the tools and support they need to succeed. KEY DUTIES Assess students? literacy skills through formal and informal measures to identify strengths, areas of need, and instructional priorities. Develop and deliver engaging, evidence-based literacy interventions aligned with state and/or national standards, incorporating the science of reading principles. Provide small-group and individual instruction tailored to meet diverse learner needs, including students with varying reading levels and learning styles. Monitor student progress regularly, analyze relevant data, and adjust instruction to accelerate growth. Collaborate with grade -level teachers and specialists to align intervention plans with core classroom instruction.Incorporate technology, digital literacy tools, and other educational resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Maintain strong classroom management skills to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff, building strong relationships to support student achievement. Demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving skills when navigating unexpected challenges. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in regular professional development, the school?s professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction. Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities. Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers Any other assigned duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: BA Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
