POSITION STATUS: 1.0 FT
START DATE: 26-27 SY
COMPENSATION: $40,800.00-$60,626.55

Serving the Forest Lake and surrounding areas since 1999, North Lakes Academy provides a personalized learning environment designed to meet a wide variety of academic needs. With strong core subjects and a full complement of liberal arts courses, NLA provides quality learning in a responsive learning atmosphere. Currently, we are consolidating to one campus that will serve approximately 412 students K-12. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid Minnesota teaching license.
Knowledge and understanding of Minnesota K-12 Language Arts Academic Standards.
Experience with formative and summative assessment, and data-driven instruction.
Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with students with disabilities.
Knowledge of the IEP process and requirements.
Ability to differentiate instruction and implement accommodations for diverse learners.
Experience mentoring students or providing small-group support.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
North Lakes Academy is seeking a 6-12 English Language Arts teacher to provide high-quality, standards-based instruction to a diverse student population. This role emphasizes student-centered learning, collaboration, and the ability to meet students where they are academically and socially. The ELA teacher will work with students, families, and staff to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide standards-based English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 6-12.
Collaborate with Special Education and English Learner (EL) teachers to ensure curriculum is appropriately accommodated and modified.
Mentor and track progress for a small group of students.
Grade assignments, maintain accurate records, and communicate student progress to families.
Participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) and school initiatives.
Attend school-sponsored events, including extracurricular programs, concerts, and parent engagement activities.
Engage in continuous professional development and instructional feedback.
Other duties as assigned.
