Benton Stearns Education District Low Incidence Services Consultant Benton-Stearns Education District is accepting applications for a Low Incidence Services Consultant Anticipated Start Date: Mid-August 2026 Salary: Salary ranges from $52,086-$102,475. Application Closing Date: Open until filled The Low Incidence Services Consultant provides collaboration and consultation to teams for special education students enrolled in the Setting IV programs at Benton Stearns Education District and member districts under the direction of the Assistant Director. The Low Incidence Services Consultant creates and provides professional development to staff in the areas of evidence based practices, instructional strategies, coordination of services, and behavioral support. Essential Job Functions: Utilize principles of instruction and coaching to provide support to staff serving students in member districts and in Setting IV Programs. Consult with special education supervisors, district administrators, special education and general education teachers, paraprofessionals and parents/guardians to implement, monitor and collect data on: The use of evaluation data to design instruction The impact of instruction on student achievement across all developmental areas The selection of appropriate instructional strategies Positive behavior interventions and supports Provide training for school site teams in topics such as: Data based decision making Data collection The design and implementation of evidence based instructional strategies Participate as a member of IEP team meetings as needed/required. Attend job-related meetings and activities as specified by the Assistant Director Perform related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of: Principles and methods of assessment, intervention, instructional strategies and services Special education rights, laws, and regulations Theory and techniques in consultation and training School district organizational structure, operations, and policies Student and staff health and safety regulations Technical report writing and effective record keeping methods Ability to: Identify and analyze academic, functional, and behavioral needs of students Provide consultation in various settings including Setting IV Programs and Member Districts Instruct and train staff in academic, functional, and behavioral strategies and methods Provide ongoing technical guidance to personnel working with students with various functional, behavioral, and academic needs Organize, plan, and schedule work efficiently and effectively Adhere to rules and regulations regarding student confidentiality Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Work cooperatively and professionally within a multidisciplinary team Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in education or a related field including a teaching license in special education or the ability to obtain licensure Preferred licensure: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, or Speech/Language Pathology Experience working with children with autism or developmental cognitive disabilities is preferred Knowledge of evidence based practices including STAR, structured teaching practices, and LINKS preferred Experience with developing and providing professional development to staff is preferred ABOUT US: At Benton-Stearns Education District (BSED), you will be a member of a team of roughly 100 talented staff. We provide a variety of specialized services including school psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, support for students with physical or sensory impairments, and early childhood special education services. BSED provides support to six member school districts that have joined together to provide services in the area of special education. These districts include: Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, ROCORI, Sartell-St. Stephen, and Sauk Rapids-Rice. Additionally, BSED has Level 4, residential, and adult learner programs across three area locations. The BSED main office is located in Sartell, MN which is a suburb of St. Cloud.
