This position is a specialized role funded through the state fiscal year 2027 and 2028 MnMTSS Infrastructure Development Grant for New Applicants. The MnMTSS Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and sustainability of a systemic, continuous improvement framework that supports the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students. This position is a peer-facing leadership role centered on systemic growth, infrastructure building, and instructional data coordination. Classification: Certified Staff (On the Teacher Master Contract) Funding Source: MnMTSS Infrastructure Development Grant (SFY 2027?2028) Reports To: Superintendent Key Collaborative Partners: Superintendent, Director of Teaching and Learning, Principal, Teachers, COMPASS Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Infrastructure Development & System Alignment Lead the initial rollout, structural design, and framework alignment of MnMTSS across district schools, including institutions monitored under the Minnesota North Star Accountability System. Establish and facilitate cross-functional district and building-level MnMTSS teams to review systemic practices. Develop consistent protocols, workflow guidelines, and resource mapping strategies to guarantee equitable access to Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions. 2. Data Practices & Instructional Leadership Coordinate the selection, implementation, and analysis of district-wide universal screening and progress monitoring tools. Lead regular data-dialogue meetings with professional learning communities (PLCs) and teachers to interpret academic and behavioral data trends. Guide teams in using data objectively to determine the efficacy of core instruction (Tier 1) and targeted interventions (Tiers 2 and 3). 3. Professional Capacity Building & Coaching Design and deliver district-wide professional development regarding the core components of the MnMTSS framework. Provide evidence-based instructional coaching to classroom teachers on differentiated instruction, scaffolded interventions, and positive behavioral strategies. Act as a professional liaison between the district and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) grant compliance networks. 4. Grant Compliance, Accountability & Management Partner closely with the Director of Teaching and Learning and Business Manager to ensure all activities line up strictly with the approved grant narrative and budget restrictions. Maintain precise documentation, session logs, and evaluation reports required by MDE. Required Qualifications Licensure: Valid Minnesota Teaching License issued by Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Education: Bachelor''s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a closely related field (Master''s Degree preferred). Skills: Deep conceptual understanding of multi-tiered frameworks (RTI, PBIS, MnMTSS). Strong proficiency in analyzing school-wide data sets (e.g., FastBridge, MCA, behavioral metrics). Excellent interpersonal communication, group facilitation, and adult coaching skills. Working Conditions & Contractual Terms Salary/Benefits: Placed on the current Mountain Iron-Buhl ISD 712 Teacher Contract schedule, commensurate with education level and years of experience. Duration: Funded through the duration of the state fiscal year 2027 and 2028 grant cycle, subject to annual performance evaluation and the continuation of state funding provisions.
