Details: Location: Rum River Special Education Cooperative, Cambridge, MN (Hybrid/On-site flexible options available) Position Type: Contract / Staffing Placement Duration: 6 weeks 9/1/26 -10/14/2026 Hours per week: up to 40 week Setting: K-12 Coop with 13 member districts Caseload: 113 students Position Overview: We are seeking a certified and collaborative Educational Audiologist to support K-12 students across our district for the upcoming school year. Unlike clinical audiology roles focused on diagnostic testing, this school-based contract position focuses entirely on educational access?ensuring students with hearing loss, auditory processing disorders, and cochlear implants have the optimized classroom technology and acoustic environments they need to learn. Key Responsibilities ? Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT): Program, fit, manage, and troubleshoot school-owned remote microphone technology (primarily Phonak Roger and FM systems) paired with students? personal hearing aids, bone-anchored devices, or cochlear implants. ? Classroom Acoustics: Conduct environmental sound assessments in classrooms to evaluate background noise and echo; recommend acoustic modifications (e.g., soundfield speakers, strategic seating) to maximize speech clarity. ? IEP & 504 Collaboration: Conduct functional listening evaluations in real-world school settings. Translate audiological data into actionable IEP goals, modifications, and testing accommodations. ? Consultative Training: Provide coaching and basic troubleshooting training to classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding equipment functionality and listening strategies. ? Student Advocacy: Foster self-advocacy skills in students, training them to manage their own assistive devices and navigate challenging acoustic environments. Compliance & Qualifications (Minnesota Requirements) ? Education: Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) or Ph.D. in Audiology from an accredited institution. (Master?s degree acceptable only if graduated prior to August 30, 2007). ? Licensure: Active Audiologist License from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) OR eligible for an expedited MN Compact Privilege via the ASLP-IC Interstate Compact. ? Certifications: Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA or board certification via ABA. ? Equipment Endorsement: Must possess or be eligible to obtain the practical Hearing Instrument Dispenser (HID) parameters required by the state of Minnesota for fitting student technology.
