About PiM:
PiM Arts High School is a tuition-free, public charter high school open to all students in grades 9 through 12 in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Our rigorous performing arts and academic curriculum has provided a rewarding environment for student artists to grow.
Students are engaged each day in classes that challenge them to expand their academic achievement and their artistry. PiM Arts High School offers classes in Media and Visual Arts, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Theatre, Dance and Musical Theatre with arts endorsement options in each area. PiM Arts High School has advanced level classes in all academic areas, with additional electives offered. Our program meets and exceeds all state mandates in academic provisions, while also providing artistic rigor with the fullest performance calendar of any four-year performing arts high school in the Twin Cities.
Qualifications:
Minnesota 5-12 Secondary Language Arts licensure required; willing to consider other licensing options with English Degree
content knowledge/experience in multiple courses in the Language Arts curriculum
Familiarity with current teaching/learning theories, state and common core standards, and differentiation
Demonstrated preparation, skill and commitment to providing for the individual learning needs of all students
Skill in using positive, constructive disciplinary approaches
Experience in or willingness to cultivate the school mission through the integration of arts in the social studies curriculum
Skill in establishing and maintaining positive relationships
Varied interest/talents/experiences beyond the content area
Responsibilities:
Instruct PiM students in grades 9-12.
Content may include:
American Literature
Remedial Literature and Literacy Skills
Research process and writing
Non Fiction Literature
World Literature
Public Speaking
Creative Writing
Work with department colleagues on administrative elements of the Language Arts department
Additional duties as assigned by administration
