MVED Job Posting Special Education Teacher- Long Term Substitute Minnesota Valley Education District (MVED) is looking for a long-term substitute special education teacher who is motivated, energetic licensed special education teacher to support the academic and social-emotional needs of students to give them the opportunity to thrive in a self-contained classroom setting. Position Title: Special Education Teacher- Long Term Substitute Job Location: Minnesota River School, Saint Peter, MN State Date: 2024-2025 School Year Salary and Benefits: Per Teacher Master Agreement Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide high-quality direct instruction to students in a multi-disciplinary classroom. 2. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials in multiple core subject areas. 3. Work collaboratively with administration, staff, students, and parents to enhance the education of our students with disabilities. 4. Complete due process requirements for students. 5. Complete three-year- re-evaluation of students to determine qualifications and need for special education services including conducting achievement tests, data collection, observations, interviews, and completing functional behavior assessments. 6. Maintain student records and files in a confidential manner. 7. Perform other duties as required and assigned. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 2. A current teaching license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). 3. Licensure in K-12 special education, EBD/ASD/ABS is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Ability to use a wide variety of instructional practices, approaches, methods, and curriculum. 2. Ability to use a variety of assessments that derive data for progress monitoring to drive instruction. 3. Understanding of differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles. 4. Experience interpreting formative and summative data. 5. Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Experience working with students with disabilities and/or supporting social, emotional, and behavioral needs. State Date: 2024-2025 School Year
