This role is essential in promoting operational efficiency and managing resources within the district's educational ecosystem. As a Digital Literacy Support Specialist, you will support the Digital Literacy Specialists, Technology Integration Specialists, and related teams to ensure streamlined operations and optimal utilization of media center resources, both print and electronic. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in education, or a closely related field * Minnesota teaching license * Required: Library Media Specialist licensure * Optional: Licensure in a K-12 specialization area * Driver&#8217;s license - travel required to locations throughout the District * Ability to perform work duties in an office and classroom setting Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Operational Efficiency: * Maintain and document the Destiny system, ensuring alignment with districtwide media center protocols. * Coordinate technical support for media center collection development and circulation. * Align media collections with district and curriculum needs, adhering to cataloging and processing standards. * Lead inventory management and loss prevention processes. * Curate and maintain the districtwide media center webpage with up-to-date resources and information. * Promote efficient use of the district&#8217;s request tracking and ticketing system. * Evaluate privacy policies and system functionality for digital resources. Resource Management Support: * Develop and maintain an information media program reflecting district goals. * Adhere to policies for purchasing and managing media center materials. * Establish and manage districtwide resource management procedures. * Promote equitable access to technology and information resources for all students. * Collaborate with the DLS team to curate and update media collections and manage media budgets. Stakeholder Engagement & Program Evaluation: * Address staff and student resource requests promptly. * Collaborate with media paraprofessionals to maintain and improve resource management. * Conduct professional learning sessions for staff on resource management. * Gather and review data to evaluate the effectiveness of the library media program. Technology Ticket Support: * Manage digital and analog resource support via the request tracking and ticketing system. * Review and ensure completeness of tickets before reassigning to team members. * Provide troubleshooting support and build staff capacity in resolving technology issues. * Prioritize and manage technology tickets to ensure timely resolution. Implementation Support: * Assist in resolving implementation gaps for new digital resources. * Support the identification of implementation gaps and provide high leverage next steps. Literacy and READ Act Implementation Support: * Support Instructional Coaches in implementing the READ Act at the elementary level. * Ensure seamless integration and utilization of digital tools for the READ Act. Instructional Materials Refusal Support: * Support the application of the Instructional Material Refusal policy and process. * Assist in the removal of resources deemed unnecessary from the district collection. Supplier Support: * Manage supplier (vendor) relationships and support the acquisition and maintenance of resources. * Address unresolved supplier issues and support resource renewals. E-12+ Digital Literacy Resource Management Support: * Manage digital literacy instructional resources within Destiny and Canvas. * Organize and update digital literacy materials to ensure accessibility and relevance. * Gather feedback to continuously improve digital literacy resources. Contribute to the Effort of Strategic Partnerships: The Digital Literacy Support Specialist regularly partners with systemwide departments/teams in service to efficiently implement District strategic plans with fidelity.
