K- 8 Specialist Gateway STEM Academy Location: Burnsville, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2024-2025 ________________________________ Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K-8 charter school in Burnsville, MN, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Specialist to join our team. This role is designed to support the unique needs of our diverse student body by delivering specialized instruction and expertise in a designated area (e.g., STEM, social-emotional learning, Art, or another focus area depending on qualifications). The Specialist will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure that students receive high-quality, targeted support to achieve their academic and developmental goals. ________________________________ Key Responsibilities * Design and deliver specialized instruction to meet the needs of students requiring targeted interventions or enrichment in the designated area. * Collaborate with classroom teachers to align instructional strategies with school-wide goals and individual student needs. * Provide professional development and coaching to staff on best practices and innovative approaches in the specialist’s area of expertise. * Develop and implement engaging Art or SEL programs to promote creativity, emotional regulation, and community-building skills. * Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and monitor the effectiveness of interventions and strategies. * Work with families and caregivers to develop a shared understanding of student progress and strategies for support. * Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide programs and initiatives aligned with Gateway’s mission and values. * Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. ________________________________ Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). * Valid Minnesota teaching license, or relevant certification in the specialist’s area of expertise. * Proven experience in the designated area (e.g., literacy intervention, STEM instruction, behavior management, Art, or SEL development). * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. * Proficiency in data-driven instruction and assessment practices. * Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment. ________________________________ What We Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Opportunities for professional development and growth. * A collaborative, innovative work environment dedicated to student success. * Access to resources and tools to support effective teaching and learning. ________________________________ About Gateway STEM Academy Gateway STEM Academy is a dynamic K-8 charter school committed to preparing students for success in STEM fields and beyond.
