This full-time position is designed to provide essential academic and personal guidance to Multi-Language Learners (ELLs) while supporting students who need assistance managing daily life skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. Responsibilities: MLL Academic Support: * Assist English Language Learners in understanding and completing assignments across multiple academic subjects. * Provide translation or language support to bridge communication gaps between students and teachers. * Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify assignments and assessments, ensuring accessibility for ELL students. * Reinforce language acquisition skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, aligning with students' learning goals. * Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and administrators. Student Advocacy and Support/ADSIS: * Build positive, trusting relationships with students to foster a sense of belonging and well-being. * Assist students in developing essential daily life skills, such as time management, organization, and self-regulation. * Provide mentorship and guidance to students who may be struggling academically, socially, or emotionally. * Facilitate small group or one-on-one sessions focused on study skills, coping strategies, and goal setting. * Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and other support staff to connect students with additional resources as needed. General Duties: * Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, common areas, and extracurricular activities, ensuring a safe and productive environment. * Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. * Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture. * Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership. Preferred Qualifications * At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits if earned in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education; or * An associate&#8217;s degree or higher; or * A passing score on an approved, formal assessment (see below) demonstrating the knowledge and ability to assist with instruction in reading/language arts, writing, mathematics or readiness for each. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Experience working with diverse student populations, particularly English Language Learners. * Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families in a supportive role. * Associate&#8217;s or Bachelor&#8217;s degree in education, social work, or a related field. * Bilingual or multilingual proficiency. * Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a student support role. * Familiarity with instructional strategies and resources for ELL students.
