The ideal candidate will join a large special education team with an on-site assistant director, school psychologist, full-time school social worker, behavior interventionist, due process secretary, paraprofessionals, all related service providers, and a continuum of intervention services in its MTSS programming. Qualifications: * Licensed as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in Minnesota or licensable if enrolled in a training program or have related experience * Excellent skills in communication and collaboration (families and staff) * Knowledge and experience in due process requirements, including: early childhood evaluations and development of IEPs * Team oriented &#8211; working with other providers, teachers and families Program Description: The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and services to children ages 4 through 6 with developmental delays. The ECSE teacher will collaborate with families, general education staff, community professionals, and other special education providers to design and implement IEPs in accordance with federal and state guidelines. Services will be provided for 4 year olds in the STARS Early Learning program and for kindergarten age students with identified developmental delays. Key Responsibilities: * Provide developmentally appropriate instruction based on individual needs in areas such as communication, cognition, motor, social-emotional, and adaptive skills. * Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of students with varying developmental needs from mild to severe. * Develop and implement IEPs that address each child's unique needs. * Use evidence-based practices and assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction and services as needed. * Work collaboratively with related service providers (e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, adapted physical education). * Serve as a resource for general education staff to ensure that needs are accommodated in the general education setting. * Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services - initial and re-evaluations * Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and other required documentation for purposes of compliance. * Facilitate transitions from early childhood programs to kindergarten. * Train, supervise and support paraprofessionals regarding the specific needs of the children on the ECSE teacher&#8217;s caseload. * Other duties as assigned.
