LIFE SKILLS TEACHER Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a full time Life Skills teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Rochester Beacon Academy (RBA) is a 6th-12th grade charter school that places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention to students. The school has small class sizes, allowing teachers to provide students with focused and personalized instruction. RBA also has a special focus on serving students with special education needs, with close to 80% of the student body receiving such services. The administration and staff are dedicated to providing these students with the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. RBA has a caring and compassionate culture, with teachers and staff committed to creating a safe, joyful and inclusive learning environment. The administration places a high value on work-life balance for both students and staff, recognizing the importance of a healthy work-life balance for academic success. In addition, the school uses trauma-informed practices to support and respect students in ways that acknowledge and address the impact of past traumatic experiences. These practices help create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional healing and academic success. Your job responsibilities includes but are not limited to: * Develop and deliver engaging lessons that focus on essential life skills, including communication, problem-solving, self-care, financial literacy, career readiness, and social interactions. * Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs. * Access and track student progress providing feedback and individualized support. * Collaborate with parents, school staff, and community organizations to create meaningful learning experiences. * Organize real-life learning opportunities such as hands-on activities and job shadowing experiences. * Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and confidence. * Stay current with best practices in life skills education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies. * Operate and supervise PAES lab activities. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field * Valid teaching certification/licensure * Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, particularly those with special needs. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) when necessary. * Passion for teaching and a commitment to student development * Teaching Certification (Preferred) * Special Education Certification (Preferred) Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year based on experience and qualifications Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Retirement plan * Vision insurance Schedule: * Full-time * Monday to Friday * In person If you wish to be considered for this position please include the following: 1.
