Hancock Public School has an opening for a full-time 7-12 Trades and Technology teacher beginning with the 2025-26 school year. Our District is currently seeking an exceptional, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who is passionate about teaching, energetic, and able to maintain our outstanding Trades/Technology/ Agricultural Education program. The successful candidate will work with a full-time Ag teacher. Our programs highlight the career opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally for students in trades, technology and agriculture. Candidates must be self-directed and possess the desire, drive, and creativity to continue to develop our Trades/Technology/Ag program. The successful candidate will have outstanding support from our community. The nature of the position possesses latitude for creativity and the prospect of developing a Trades and Technology program of the future. Hancock is a small, friendly community of approximately 800 residents located in West Central Minnesota. Hancock Public School is a financially sound district, and thanks to strong support and involvement from the community, and a committed staff, our student population continues to grow. A complete remodel of existing space and new addition was added to our K-12 facility in 2013 and again in 2019. The 2019 addition included new trades, technology, and ag facilities. Candidates interested in the position must: Qualifications: 1. Possess solid classroom management skills. 2. Be extremely organized. 3. Utilize best practice teaching strategies including differentiated instruction. 4. Have a strong background in technology including the use of SMART Boards, Chromebooks, and laptops in the classroom. 5. Be creative and forward thinking. 6. Be skilled at meeting the diverse needs of all learners. 7. Be knowledgeable in the use of data to differentiate and drive instruction. 8. Be outgoing and community minded. Willingness to invite/involve parents and community members in the classroom is a must. 9. Have a willingness to be involved in other aspects of the Hancock Public School culture and community. 10. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 11. Enjoy working as a collaborative team member in a K-12 setting. 12. Hold, or be able to obtain by the start of the 2025-26 school year, a current Minnesota teaching license, with appropriate endorsement. Preferred (But Not Required): *Career & Technical Education Certified. *Teacher/Coordinator Work-Based Learning Certified Responsibilities Include: 1. Providing hands-on learning opportunities through classroom activities, labs, and outdoor projects. 2. Managing and maintaining school industrial tech/agricultural facilities. 3. Collaborating with colleagues, local industry and agricultural professionals, and community partners to enhance learning opportunities. 4. Staying current with industrial technology/agricultural advancements and incorporating innovative practices into the curriculum. 5. Supporting students in career development and exploration within the industrial technology/agricultural industry. 6. Teaching Industrial Technology/Agriculture courses to middle and high school students while providing challenging curriculum for all students. 7. Maintaining accurate records of students&#8217; grades and attendance. 8. Participating in grade level and department meetings, aligning and deepening curriculum, improving pedagogy. 9. Practicing and carrying out rules and procedures as defined by the Hancock Public School District. 10. Participating fully in all staff development and staff collaboration such as in-service, staff meetings, department work, committee work, parent teacher conference nights, etc. 11. Supporting the Principal with supervision of students. 12. Fostering a love of the trades, technology, and agriculture in all students. Coaching vacancies are anticipated. Assistant Football, Assistant Girls Basketball, Head Softball. Willingness/ability to coach is not a priority in the hiring process.
