Grade: K-8 Subject: Subject Education Teacher POSITION DETAILS Start Date: 2025-2026 Full Time FTE: 1.0 Role Objectives: The K-8 Special Education Teacher at STRIDE Academy will provide personalized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. They will design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with families and other educators to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education, and create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes accessibility, achievement, and self-advocacy for all students. Key Duties: Develop and deliver engaging lessons that comply with state standards and/or national standards. The special education teacher develops materials and lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction and evaluates and assesses both instructional materials and student performance. The teacher meets with parents, interprets student progress and informs parents/guardians about student strengths, weaknesses and/or progress. Additionally, the special education teacher facilitates Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Evaluation Summary Report (ESR) meetings and completes special education paperwork as determined by state and local due process requirements. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in regular professional development, the school&#8217;s professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction. Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities. Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers Any other assigned duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: BA Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
