The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students, as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Terms: 2025-2026 Season Practice begins October 27, 2025 Compensation will be per the EGFEA Master Work Agreement Salary Range: $5,328.00 - $6,595.00/year Reporting Relationship: The Head Girls Hockey Coach reports directly to the Activities Director. Basic Function of the Position: The Head Girls Hockey Coach must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Job Summary: East Grand Forks Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Girls Hockey Coach to lead our high school girls' hockey program. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of coaching, program development, and fostering a competitive and positive team culture. The coach will oversee practices and game strategies while adhering to Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and district policies. Responsibilities include developing daily practice plans, setting clear goals and objectives to help student-athletes reach their full potential, and motivating players to appreciate the sport while preparing them for life beyond athletics. The coach will also work closely with the Activities Director to coordinate scheduling, order supplies, and arrange transportation. Responsibilities: * Develop and implement a comprehensive hockey program focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. * Plan and lead practices, game strategies, and conditioning programs. * Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on and off the ice. * Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and the community. * Ensure compliance with Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) rules and district policies. * Oversee assistant coaches and team staff. * Promote academic success and character development among student-athletes. * Assist in coordinating scheduling, transportation, and game-day logistics. Qualifications: * Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level. * Strong knowledge of hockey fundamentals, strategies, and training techniques. * Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. * Ability to develop positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and school staff. * Must meet all MSHSL coaching certification requirements. * Candidate must be able to successfully complete a background check.
