Hennepin Schools is a public K-8 charter school founded in 2012 to ensure all students achieve academic success by developing community builders, confident learners, and cross-cultural navigators.
We are seeking a hard working professional K-6 Licensed Elementary Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. This is a full time time position Monday to Friday, 8-4 pm. An ideal candidate will commit to personal growth and continuous improvement.

Your Job:
As a K-4 Science Prep teacher at Hennepin Schools, it is your responsibility to create and maintain a classroom that supports our mission to:
Provide a safe, nurturing and cooperative learning environment where children discover their personal and academic strengths
Cultivate a sense of respect and responsibility
Create a sense of social awareness and a social bridge to the broader community
Provide a curriculum that leads each child to educational success and closes the achievement gap
Instill self-esteem, confidence and a positive attitude in every child
Duties and Responsibilities:
Use k-4 MN State Science Standards to write appropriate lesson plans and adaptations
Integrate school-adopted curriculum, Amplify Science, into coherent lessons designed to maximize every student’s potential to teach 5 science lessons daily
Prepare students for the Grade 5 MCA III Science test
Participates in all team-wide planning meetings and PLCs
Consistently implement school-wide Whole Child behavior model
Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
MN Teacher's License in K-6 Elementary or equivalent
Ability to interact well with staff, students, families, and stakeholders
Strong behavior management skills
Strong passion for science and science in the real world
Experience working with students of color
Detail oriented, flexible and able to multitask
Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive attitude and a sense of humor
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful in the completion of work assignments
Sense of accountability and ownership for work results
Knowledge of the following computer applications: Smartboard Notebook, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and Google Classroom
Highly preferred bilingual or multilingual, Spanish or Somali preferred
Highly preferred minimum of two years teaching
Compensation
Hennepin Schools salary for this position is competitive and based on prior experience.
