Social Studies Teacher Gentry Academy, a 5-12 charter school in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, is seeking a full time teacher whose primary responsibility will be teaching Social Studies for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. Gentry Academy is located on the TCO Sports Garden campus in a state-of-the-art building that was newly opened in the spring of 2017. Gentry Academy is designed for students who seek to be high-achieving leaders in life. Students are presented with a powerful opportunity to learn in a traditional classroom setting that integrates the core curriculum with a flexible W.I.N. (What I Need) schedule that allows students to focus on their desired disciplines and passions. Position Description: The position requires an experienced teacher who can independently manage a classroom. A Minnesota teaching license is required. Planning, organization, and implementation of an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Classes may include social studies from 5th-12th grade. The candidate selected to fill the role of a social studies teacher will be given the great responsibility of continuing our commitment to leadership and academic excellence. Qualifications: Job qualifications for the position include: *Ability to provide a high level of rigor *Ability to maintain a classroom *Strong skills in student advocacy and relationship building *Highly proficient in Social Studies *Ability to work in a collaborative environment and build positive working relationships with students, parents, and other staff. *Applied knowledge of current technology used to support student learning *Ability to handle competing priorities *Self-directed and able to manage workload and make deadlines *Ability to make student-centered decisions *Comply with Federal and State laws regarding 504s and IEPs.
