A Coach is responsible for overseeing the development and success of student-athletes or participants in a specific athletic or activity program. This role includes planning and conducting practice sessions, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. The Coach collaborates with other staff, maintains communication with parents, and supports the academic and personal growth of students. Additional duties may include assisting with team selection, managing equipment, organizing events or competitions, and representing the program within the school and community. Position Head Boys Basketball Coach Athletic or Activity Boys Basketball Rate of Pay $6,629 stipend for the Season Hours Per Day Variable Schedule (Approximately) Practices: M-F 3:00-5:00 PM (Apart from gamedays). Games: 3:30- 8:30 (Away games will cause ending times to vary). November 2025-March 2026 Working Days per Year Seasonal - Based upon Activity Benefits Benefits for this position are limited due to the limited and variable nature of the role. Benefits may be adjusted as the role becomes a long-term position. * Paid Time Off * Sick Leave/Earned Safe & Sick Time - Earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked Bargaining Unit Not Applicable Qualifications Required * Promote and develop a program that builds relationships with MS and Youth programs to keep everyone working together. * Previous high school coaching experience preferred. * Strong knowledge and experience in skill development, communication and team atmosphere. * Knowledge of safety protocols, injury prevention, and first aid, with a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all participants. * Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development. * Ability to motivate athletes in an educationally based atmosphere. * Availability to attend practices, games, and other team-related events, including evenings and weekends as required. * Must have completed the MSHSL Head Coaching Certification or equivalent. * Must have complete knowledge and understanding of all MSHSL and district policies and practices and develop the program within them.
