Reporting Relationship: The Visual Arts Teacher reports directly to the Building Principal East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The teacher plans and implements lessons aligned with the Minnesota Academic Standards in the Arts, assesses student learning, and supports the development of a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Collaboration with colleagues, participation in school-wide activities, and effective communication with students and families are essential components of the role. The Visual Arts Teacher is responsible for providing academic and goal-based learning experiences that enhance student progress in appreciation of art instruction.
