REPORTS TO: Director of E-12 Education or Designee
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Valid Minnesota teaching license.
* Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment.
* Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and facilitating professional development for educators.
* Strong understanding of state standards and best practices in literacy instruction.
* Experience working with and guiding Professional Learning Teams or similar collaborative groups.
* Knowledge of Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and effective literacy interventions.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Valid Minnesota teaching license with an emphasis in literacy or reading.
* Experience as a literacy coach or specialist.
* Experience with the MN Reading Corps program.
* Experience using data to inform instructional decisions and professional development planning.
* K-12 Principal License
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Curriculum/Instruction/Professional Development Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality instruction and continuous professional growth across E-12 districtwide. This position is responsible for leading and supporting the implementation of state standards-aligned curriculum, coordinating logistical aspects of professional development initiatives, and supporting the work of Professional Learning Teams to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure effective implementation of research-based best practices in all content areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Curriculum Leadership and Implementation:
*
Collaborates with the E12 Director of Education to plan and execute curriculum review cycles that meet state standards.
*
Supports all aspects of the curriculum review cycle, including evaluating, piloting, selection, adoption, and ordering of curricular materials.
*
Facilitates the review and selection of materials to support diverse student needs, overarching district goals and state standards.
*
Guides and assists instructional staff in implementing changes related to state standards, including the critical processes of unpacking individual standards and bundling related standards and assessments across all content areas.
*
Support alignment of formative and summative assessments and grade reporting across grades.
*
Professional Development Coordination and Facilitation:
*
Designs and executes training for staff enrolled in New Teacher Academy, including training and supporting mentors.
*
Designs and delivers relevant professional development to staff based on best practices in literacy education.
*
Coordinates logistical aspects of professional development activities, including scheduling, communication, materials preparation, and resource allocation.
*
Facilitates professional development related to literacy education.
*
Assists school sites with best practice implementation by providing professional development, coaching, and support.
*
Collect and analyze data on the effectiveness of professional learning programs, including participant feedback, changes in practice, and impact on student learning outcomes.
*
Utilize data to inform future professional learning planning and make adjustments as needed.
*
Professional Learning Team Guidance:
*
Support and guide teacher collaborative teams, such as Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), in establishing goals, outcomes, and metrics for evaluation.
*
Supports PLTs in analyzing student data, identifying needs, and developing action plans aligned with curriculum and state standards.
*
Supports the work of instructional support staff including Grade Level Academic Leads, Secondary Specialists and content leads.
*
Assessment and Intervention Support:
*
Supports assessment, specifically aligned to the MN Read Act.
*
Provides recommendations regarding appropriate Tier II and Tier III literacy and math interventions and strategies as part of the district’s Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS).

Serves as a resource to schools in their implementation of school improvement plans and PLTs
*
