Full-time eligible teachers can access the district's Group Health Plan and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) if enrolled in a high-deductible health plan, with contributions up to $968.57/month in 2024-25. If eligible, the school district contribution toward dental insurance is $59.14/month for the 2024-25 school year, and the contribution toward life insurance is $20.69/month for the same period. Sick leave accrues at 12 days annually, with up to 48 hours designated as Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST). Unused sick leave is unlimited, while ESST accrues up to 20 days. Additionally, teachers have access to bereavement, jury, military, and unpaid childcare leave along with a matched 403(b) plan and professional development opportunities. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Position Summary: The 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher will support the academic, social, and personal development of students by delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in accordance with the Minnesota Academic Standards. This position may include AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) responsibilities, supporting students in building college and career readiness skills. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator committed to fostering student growth through meaningful curriculum, effective classroom management, and collaborative teamwork. Key Responsibilities: * Design and implement lessons aligned with Minnesota State Standards for Social Studies. * Create a safe, respectful, and culturally responsive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success. * Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods and use results to guide instruction. * Support AVID strategies, such as focused note-taking, organization, and college and career readiness activities (if assigned). * Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to support student learning and school initiatives. * Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, achievements, and needs. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Social Studies Education, History, or a related field. * Valid Minnesota teaching license in Social Studies (Grades 5&#8211;8 or 5&#8211;12). * Experience teaching middle school students preferred. * Familiarity with AVID strategies is a plus. * Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. * Ability to differentiate instruction and use technology effectively in the classroom.
