Global Academy New Brighton, Minnesota PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER &#8211; GRADES K-8 2025-2026 MISSION Global Academy is a free, chartered public elementary and middle school that seeks to serve a diverse group of students. Global Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated physical education teacher who will provide best-practice instruction to diverse learners. About the PE Program! * All students at Global Academy receive DAILY physical education instruction. * The school currently has two gym spaces * The program is resource rich and well funded. * Teachers have support to be creative and to develop their own IB Pe curriculum. Responsibilities: * Articulate the mission and vision of Global Academy to students, parents, and the greater community * Create a classroom environment in which every child can succeed and which establishes high academic and behavior standards * Demonstrate high proficiency and expertise in content areas * Create effective lesson plans and instructional materials * Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students * Teach all approved curricula * Implement and support the School Wide Positive Behavior System established by the school * Assess the progress of each student * Prepare and maintain appropriate records and progress reports * Communicate with parents during the school day and outside the normal classroom hours as required * Identify student needs and make appropriate referrals for student services * Help to promote and maintain a professional environment * Direct paraprofessionals and volunteers as necessary * Demonstrate the attributes of a lifelong learner * Participate successfully in the faculty professional development and evaluation system * Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the administration Required Qualifications * Must be licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to teach physical education to students in Grades K-8 or be eligible to be licensed in PE * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Familiarity with educational technology * Ability to work with diverse student populations * Commitment to educational equity Preferred Qualifications * Experience working with ESL population * Knowledge of or experience with the International Baccalaureate Program Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
