Position: Community Education Youth Enrichment Assistant Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: To assist the youth enrichment coordinator in coordinating, managing, and implementing District 197’s Community Education Youth Enrichment and Youth Development program.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist the youth enrichment program coordinator in overseeing classes and activities.
* Assist in developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating youth community education programs.
* Submit information for classes and camps for marketing purposes.
* Prepares marketing pieces for publication (flyers, etc).
* Input and manage youth enrichment registration.
* Provide communication, support, and class rosters for staff and instructors.
* Schedule and ensure facilities and materials are prepared and ready for classes.
* Develop positive relationships with school district personnel to ensure successful program development, safety, and implementation.
* Implement scholarship resources for youth.
* Prepare reports and evaluate programs as needed.
* Coordinate transportation to enrichment classes and activities.
* Assists in leading class activities and supervising youth as needed.
* Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers while responding to various questions and needs regarding youth programs.
* Purchase and manage materials and supplies for staff and programs
* Provides support to the Community Education Director when needed.
* Ensure the program complies with emergency procedures.
* Ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of student data
* Responds to all emails within the appropriate timeframe (two business days).
* Engages in professional development and networking groups as appropriate
* Provides other general duties to accomplish the objectives of the program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
* Bachelor’s degree
* Experience in planning for, developing, and implementing programming.
* Experience working with parents and the community.
* Experience working with youth.
* Strong interpersonal skills that promote cooperation and trust.
* Evidence of ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
* Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and work with minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
* Pleasant phone manner, helpful demeanor, and positive, friendly attitude.
* Must have a reliable and flexible form of transportation.
* Technology skills needed: Google platform, ability to learn the registration system (Eleyo), and a web-based graphic design program (Canva)
* Must have the ability and proven record of reporting to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
