New Century School (NCS) is an innovative STEM-focused public charter school situated North of Hamline University in the Como Neighborhood of St. Paul, MN. Dedicated to academic excellence, NCS offers a dynamic learning environment for students from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Instructional Planning
* Provide instruction in all areas as defined by the IEP, this may include resource room instruction and inclusion (co-teaching) practices
* Prepares lesson plans for specific direct instruction that aligns with student’s IEP goals and state standards.
* Consult with school personnel and parents of children with autism regarding appropriate programming
* Monitors student progress as described in student IEP’s and complete quarterly progress reports
Collaboration
* In collaboration with regular education teachers, adapts classroom activities, assignments (e.g. reinforcement of IEP goals and objectives, etc.)
* Collaborates with regular education teacher(s) or other staff for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines and for the purpose of promoting continuous improvement of individual student goals.
* Work together with service providers and case managers to ensure appropriate programming for students with autism
* Participates in professional learning communities, building and district wide professional development.
Due Process
* Completes all required due process paperwork required and/or mandated by state and federal laws or as required by the District.
* Plans, develops and writes individualized education programs (IEP’s) that address individualized learning goals, objectives, learning strategies and behavior management plans for students with special needs.
* Meet due process timeline requirements
