The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and inspiring students in grades 7-12, with a focus on fostering real-world skills in all classes including work-based learning opportunities. Additionally, the candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of a DECA program within our school. Responsibilities: 1. Teach a range of business-related courses to students in grades 7-12. 2. Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with curriculum standards and promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of business concepts. 3. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate work-based learning experiences into the curriculum, including internships, job shadowing, and industry partnerships. 4. Provide personalized support and guidance to students as they explore career pathways, develop professional skills, and prepare for post-secondary education or employment. 5. Serve as an advisor to students participating in DECA, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to help them excel in competitions and develop leadership skills. 6. Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive DECA program, including recruitment, training, and coordination of student activities and events. 7. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity, encourages collaboration, and promotes mutual respect among students and staff. 8. Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in business education, work-based learning, and DECA programming, and incorporate innovative strategies into teaching practices. 9. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, deepen content knowledge, and stay informed about changes in education policy and curriculum standards. 10. Collaborate with school leadership, parents, and community stakeholders to promote the importance of business education and work-based learning in preparing students for future success. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). * Valid MN teaching license/certification in secondary education or the ability to obtain one (Business Education endorsement preferred). * Prior experience teaching business courses at the secondary level preferred, with a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students. * Knowledge of work-based learning principles and experience designing and implementing experiential learning opportunities for students. * Familiarity with DECA programs, competitions, and curriculum standards. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents, and community partners. * Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
