The program will run for 15 days: * June 16 - 18 * June 23 - 26 * July 7 - 10 * July 14 - 17 * HOURS: 8:00 am - 1:30 pm Qualifications * A minimum of a bachelor&#8217;s degree with a concentration in recreational therapy * Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist preferred, but not required * Must have a valid driver&#8217;s license to travel between HVED programs * Strong written and oral communication skills Competencies * A genuine liking for working with kids of all abilities * Current knowledge of best practices in Therapeutic Recreation * Must be energetic and willing to make a difference in children's lives * Ability to work as a member of a team Duties and Responsibilities Include (but not limited to) * Establish a trusting therapeutic relationship with the diverse students in the program * Use recreational therapeutic techniques and activities to improve cognitive, physical, emotional, and behavioral wellbeing of students * Plan and implement safe and accessible recreation, artistic, instructional, and athletic activities on an independent, group, or team level * Develop new programs and activities by researching trends, student and faculty recommendations, and evaluating student needs * Observe monitor, and collect data to ensure the quality of programs, events, and classes. * Order, inspect, and maintain recreation equipment and materials * Maintain records and reports as required, including but not limited to required MA billing * All other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements * School building, office, lifting, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc. * Ability to lift 50 pounds Travel Requirements This position works primarily out of the SPECTRUM Program in Hokah, MN.
