HMS Summer Academy Teachers - General Education - Hasting Middle School (4-6 positions)
Hours: Instructional times of 8:00am-12:00pm, June 16th - 18th; June 23 - 26; June 30 - July 3
Program Philosophy
The HMS Summer Academy is composed of an academic recovery program for students who attended HMS in grades 5-8 during the 2024-25 school year, and need to fill in some academic gaps. We also want to provide an experiential learning environment to enhance the learning.
Responsible to: Hastings Middle School Principal - Ryan Wynn
Qualifications:
* Minnesota licensure in Mathematics, Social Studies, Language Arts, and/or Science preferred (Elementary Education license acceptable)
* Experience in developing and implementing a variety of instructional interventions for effective learning
Responsibilites:
* Deliver instruction for students who are currently not passing one or more core courses.
* Team planning and teaching
* Program evaluation
* Collect data on progress
* Oversee the work of an Instructional Assistant (IA).
Expectation:
Teachers are expected to work the full summer session.
Compensation:
Instructional Time
4 hours/day x 11 days (8:00am-12:00pm)
Includes Prep Time (8-8:30am)
44 Hours
Grade Reporting 1 Hour on July 3rd to Report Grades 1 Hour
Pre-Planning Time 5.5 Hours
Staff Meeting .5 Hours
Total Hours 51 Hours
